Motorcycle Accident Law
When a motorcyclist suffers personal injury or wrongful death in a motorcycle accident caused by someone else’s negligence, the victim (or the surviving family members) may seek damages. The law establishes who may seek damages, who may be held liable for a motorcycle accident injury, and other matters pertinent to the filing of a motorcycle accident lawsuit. The particulars of the law vary from state to state, and victims should enlist the services of a skilled motorcycle accident attorney in order to increase their chances of obtaining a settlement or jury award.

Types of Injuries
Unfortunately, many motorcycle accidents result in catastrophic injuries – for example, spinal cord, back, burn, and brain injury. Too often, a motorcycle accident results in death. However, victims who suffer less severe injuries – for example, broken bones and road rash – may also be entitled to damages. All motorcycle accident victims should hire an experienced attorney to handle their claims.
Motorcycle Accident Compensation
A motorcycle accident settlement or jury award is intended to compensate a victim for the expenses and losses resulting from his or her injuries. This may include compensation for the victim’s medical expenses, rehabilitative care, household expenses during recovery, lost income, decreased earning potential, and other losses. The size of the settlement or jury award depends on a number of factors, including the severity of the victim’s injuries, the skill of his or her attorney, the circumstances surrounding the crash, and state law.
Filing a Motorcycle Accident Lawsuit
The process of filing a motorcycle accident lawsuit can be quite complicated. A victim must prove the fault of the defendant and file suit within the proper time frame. A lawyer with experience handling motorcycle accident claims has the knowledge and skill to bring even complex cases to favorable resolutions.
