Motorcycle Accident Law
When a person is injured in a motorcycle collision caused by someone else’s negligence, the injured party may be eligible to obtain compensation for his or her injuries. The law includes a number of statutes that establish the parameters within which a victim may seek damages – for example, what constitutes negligence, the time limit for filing a motorcycle accident lawsuit, and who may be held liable. (Depending on the circumstances of the crash and on state law, a number of parties may be held liable for a motorcycle accident injury – for example, the manufacturer of a defective automotive or motorcycle part, the motorist with whom the motorcyclist crashed, or the party responsible for maintaining safe road conditions.) The particulars of motorcycle accident law vary from state to state, so it is crucial that a victim hire an attorney with experience handling motorcycle accident claims.

Types of Injuries
The severity of a motorcycle accident injury depends on a number of factors, including the circumstances surrounding the crash, the object with which the victim collided, and whether the victim was wearing a helmet. Catastrophic injuries, including back, burn, spinal cord, and brain injuries, are too often the result of a motorcycle collision. Tragically, a motorcycle accident can also result in wrongful death.
Motorcycle Accident Compensation
A motorcycle accident settlement or jury award is intended to compensate a victim for the losses and expenses suffered as a result of an accident – for example, his or her medical expenses, lost wages, decreased earning potential, the cost of maintaining his or her household during recovery, and pain and suffering. The size of the settlement depends on a number of factors, including the severity of the victim’s injuries and the skill of his or her attorney.
Filing a Motorcycle Accident Lawsuit
Filing a motorcycle accident lawsuit involves a number of steps, including investigating the accident, proving the fault of the negligent party, and meeting all of the appropriate deadlines. The process of filing suit can be complicated and overwhelming without the assistance of a practiced motorcycle accident attorney. Only a lawyer with experience handling motorcycle accident claims has the knowledge necessary to bringing a case to a favorable conclusion.
